On 27 October, Wrexham Waterworld Activity and Leisure Centre was officially reopened following significant refurbishment work.
Clarkson Alliance provided design, project and cost management services on the project which has greatly improved the leisure facilities for the local community. The renovation project included: an improved gym area with new equipment; a new reception and cafe area; refurbishment of the changing rooms and a new cycling studio.
The project received funding from the Welsh government, which supports the improvement in facilities to help people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds to participate and enjoy sport. The centre was officially reopened by the Mayor of Wrexham, Welsh Assembly Members and councillors along with directors from Freedom Leisure.
Andy Harris, Freedom Leisure Area Manager, said: “We are extremely proud of the new facilities, especially as the cycling studio and gym are now able to rival the best private gyms! Most importantly, users have already reported to us how happy they are with the enhanced facilities and offerings – which is excellent”.
