On 26 July 2017, the Chirk Leisure and Activity Centre was reopened following extensive refurbishment to improve provision for the local community. The centre was reopened by the Major of Wrexham, Councillor John Pritchard.

Clarkson Alliance provided design, project and cost management services, and worked closely with our partners Leisure Energy who delivered energy saving measures that will reduce energy consumption by 36%. The refurbishments included a new, expanded fitness suite and free weights area, as well as a new reception area, and new lighting over the swimming pool which has dramatically improved the swimming experience and has received great feedback from users.

The project received funding from the Welsh government, which supports the improvement in facilities to help people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds to participate and enjoy sport.

Clarkson Alliance are also working to complete refurbishments at the Waterworld Leisure Centre in nearby Wrexham, which is on track to be opened in October.
