Littlehampton Leisure Centre
Arun District Council is building a new leisure centre as part of the council’s commitment to improve leisure services for the local community. Clarkson Alliance are providing Project and Cost Management services.
The centre will include an eight-lane 25-metre swimming pool, a training pool with moveable floor, an 80-85 station gym, a dance studio which can divide into two spaces, and a spinning studio. There will also be a café, multi-purpose room/meeting room and sauna.
It is being erected on the site of the current sports dome and overflow car park. The new building is being constructed adjacent to the existing leisure centre, the Littlehampton Swimming Centre, which will be demolished once the new leisure centre opens.
Enabling works were completed on time in August 2017 and main construction of the leisure centre began in September 2017. The completed centre is expected to open in April 2019.
The project will be delivered using Building Information Modelling (BIM) level 2 which will offer 3D visualisation of the proposed building and post contract operation and maintenance benefits for the client.
Further project updates are available on the Arun District Council website.
