William Scott Abbott Trust
Sacrewell Farm, Peterborough
Value £1.8m
Sacrewell Farm is an English Tourist Board, Quality Assured visitor attraction providing activities throughout the year. With significant experience in heritage projects and helping to secure funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Clarkson Alliance was chosen to oversee the £1.8 million project delivery and cost management.
We provided strategic input to the Trust on developing a sustainable business plan which would also support the long term future of the farm, taking into account the high priority preservation factor due to the watermill being in the top 8% of listed buildings in the UK.
The scope of the project included construction restoration works to create a new bespoke educational facility, accommodation for residential training courses and includes extensive conservation of walls, roofs, floors etc. and restoration refurbishment of the mechanics of the water mill machinery as well as the installation of a hydro-electric scheme, fire and intruder systems.
Clarkson Alliance helped the Trust to successfully secure Stage 1 and 2 funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and worked collaboratively and decisively with all the stakeholders involved.
The project has since gone on to win multiple awards at RICS East of England 2016 including overall Project of the Year.
