Cardinal House, Oxford | Clarkson Alliance

Oxford City Council needed to transform Cardinal House, a sheltered housing accommodation block in Littlemore and they looked to Clarkson Alliance to help deliver the project.

The existing 33 homes required modernisation and refurbishment with a brand new extension that would form 20 new 1 bedroom flats, built to Code 4 of the Code for Sustainable homes, exceeding the national standard.

Clarkson Alliance has significant experience working with NEC3 and was able to support Oxford City Council’s internal project manager to deliver the project on time and within budget. We were chosen to manage this project because of our knowledge and experience of managing projects under the NEC3 suite of contracts and our collaborative approach to risk management.

The successful project outcome delivered a smart new accommodation solution, aimed at those aged 55+ in the community.

Cardinal House has offered sheltered accommodation for those over 55 years old for a number of years. During its refurbishment Clarkson Alliance worked with us offering us continued support and guidance in a project assurance role. They helped us to swiftly put measures in place when there were challenges on the project such as when there was a break in towards the end of the project. Now over 53 residents have better facilities in a safer environment with a cohesive community feel. We were pleased the project was delivered within budget.
