Few people fail to notice the new Vishuddha Yoga Centre building in East Street, Oxford. The striking copper façade has attracted admiration and notoriety – but is rarely ignored.

The Centre replacing a rundown artist’s studio with a purpose-built yoga studio in a Conservation Area has not been without its controversy. In addition, the building sits in a flood-risk area and the new owners wanted to maximise energy efficiency.

Clarkson Alliance were brought in to help navigate and support the successful delivery of this sensitive development by providing cost management  (QS) services.

You can read more about the journey by architect Adrian James in the Architects’ Journal . Started February 2021, the studio opened to the public in June 2022. The project was short-listed in the Oxford Property Festival Awards 2022.
