Littlehampton Leisure Centre
Arun District Council is building a new sports and leisure centre as part of the council’s commitment to improve leisure services for the local community. The new building will be constructed adjacent to the existing leisure centre in Littlehampton, West Sussex.
Clarkson Alliance has been appointed by Arun District Council to provide project and cost management services to the new Littlehampton Leisure Centre. The leisure centre will continue to be managed and operated by Freedom Leisure, who won a 10 year deal in 2015.
The centre is set to offer an eight lane, 25-metre swimming pool, a learner pool with a moveable floor, a gym, a dance studio, a cycling studio, a four-court sports hall and a café. It will be erected on the site of the current sports dome and overflow car park. The project also involves the demolition of the current Littlehampton Swimming Centre once the new Leisure Centre opens.
Main construction of the leisure centre is due to begin in September 2017 and it is expected to open in 2019.
The project will be delivered using Building Information Modelling (BIM) level 2 which will offer 3D visualisation of the proposed building and post contract operation and maintenance benefits for the client.
Further project updates are available on the Arun District Council website.
