Islington councillors visited the Clock Tower in Caledonian Park on 18 October to officially mark the start of construction works on site.

Work has now begun on the project to revitalise Caledonian Park and secure the future of the Grade II* listed Caledonian Clock Tower,  which has received almost £2 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).

Clarkson Alliance are Project Managers on the project, and bring extensive experience of delivering heritage projects on time and on budget and also of working with the HLF.  Work is being carried out by construction company Lengard, and is due to be completed in summer 2018.

Cllr Claudia Webbe, the council’s executive member for environment and transport, said: “It’s fantastic that work has begun on this exciting project, which offers a brilliant opportunity to celebrate our history, and bring that history alive.”
